Aversion towards risk and uncertainty
The mean certainty equivalent under risk was 277 euros (SD±130). This was significantly different from the expected value of the lottery (250 euros), revealing global risk-seeking among our sample (unpaired t-test, P=0.03).
Under uncertainty conditions, the mean certainty equiva- lent was 241 euros (SD±136). This was significantly lower than under risk (paired t-test, P<0.001) and reveals an over- all ambiguity aversion among our sample. More specifical- ly, of the 212 respondents, 110 are ambiguity averse, 52
